Sometimes it takes a long time for God to make himself known to us. Sometimes we must suffer in order to enjoy the rainbows. Sometimes our tears borne from seasons of emptiness are necessary to appreciate the fullness of grace that God lavishes on us. To those of you who are in the wilderness, going through prolonged periods of suffering and isolation- the dark night of the soul, don’t give up. God is at work doing something spectacular in your life that will also prove to be a spectacular blessing to others.
Hang in there and rejoice. As difficult as it may be to understand or appreciate now, you’re being tested, renewed and refined for a reason. Read the Epistle of James. Consider the story of Job. Be encouraged. Sometimes life’s biggest dreams are carved out of our biggest nightmares.
The more suffering and refining we are meant to endure now leads to a happy ending, I promise you. You’re not alone, forgotten or unloved, and God is faithful to see you through as your life is being made more and more in His image with every tear you shed and prayer you pray. He will turn your sorrow into joy.
